One thing of particular note in listing 7.11: the stroke and fill properties are Paint objects, not Color objects. Why Quite simply, the former allows us to plug in a gradient fill or some other complex pattern, while the latter would support only a flat color. And, believe it or not, JavaFX s support for styles actually extends all the way to patterned fills. Moving on, the concluding part of the source code (listing 7.12) shows how these variables are used to construct the progress meter.

ISA Server, Standard Edition, and ISA Server, Enterprise Edition, provide similar functionality. The most significant difference between the two versions is that Enterprise Edition provides enhanced scalability. ISA Server, Standard Edition, provides firewall and proxy server services on a single computer, while Enterprise Edition provides the same services on multiple servers. ISA Server, Enterprise Edition, uses a Configuration Storage server to store the configuration for all the arrays in the enterprise. There can be multiple Configuration Storage servers deployed in the organization. Configuration Storage server uses Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) to store and replicate configuration data for all the ISA Server computers in an ISA Server enterprise. When deploying ISA Server, Enterprise Edition, you must configure additional components that are not available in Standard Edition. These additional components include enterprise policies and networks, and arrays and array policies. When you deploy ISA Server, Enterprise Edition, you can configure ISA Server policies and policy objects at both the enterprise level and the array level. Enterprise policy rules can be evaluated before or after the array rules. The effective policy is the combination of enterprise and array policies. Network load balancing (NLB) is a Windows network feature that is used to create a cluster of computers that can be addressed by a single cluster IP address. ISA

ISA Server, Enterprise Edition, supports remote-access virtual private networks (VPN), including network quarantine control, and site-to-site VPNs. With Enterprise Edition, you can configure the option to use NLB for VPN connections. ISA Server provides distributed caching through the use of the Cache Array Routing Protocol (CARP). CARP distributes the cache used by Web Proxy clients across an array of ISA Server computers.

Infrastructure Network Connection The network projector is part of an organization s infrastructure. If it is on the same subnet as the computer you want to connect to it, you can use the connection wizard or specify a Universal Naming Convention (UNC) path to the projector. A step-by-step procedure for doing this is given later in this lesson. If the network projector is a component in an Internetwork, you can identify it by using a URL. Ad Hoc Connection Ad hoc connections were described in 7, Configuring Network Connectivity. If you are at a meeting (for example, in a hotel conference room) where you and other participants have formed an ad hoc network, a network projector can be included in that network, enabling you or any other participant to give a presentation. Connection through a Network Projector Adapter If you or the organization for which you work does not have a network projector, you can use an existing data projector for that purpose by connecting to it through a network projector adapter. Typically, the adapter connects to the network wirelessly but has a wired connection to the projector.
