There is no limit to the number of devices that you can install to use with SideShow. To determine whether a device is SideShow-compatible, look for the Windows SideShow logo on the device or refer to the manufacturer s documentation. To install a SideShow-compatible device, you follow the manufacturer s instructions. This typically involves connecting the device, inserting an optical disk, and running a wizard. When the device is installed, it appears in the Windows SideShow dialog box, shown previously in Figure 13-26. Under the device, the dialog box provides a check box for each installed SideShow gadget, and you specify the SideShow gadgets you want to use on the device. Exam Tip

After you create the array, you can modify the array configuration by completing the following procedure: 1. In the ISA Server Management Console, expand Arrays. 2. Right-click the array that you are configuring and click Properties. 3. On the Policy Settings tab, shown in Figure 12-14, configure the enterprise policy that will apply to the array, and modify the types of firewall policy rules that can be configured for the array.

Because different installation procedures might apply to devices from different manufacturers, the 70-620 examination is unlikely to ask questions about how to install a device.

When you download a SideShow gadget and run the installation (msi) file, an installation wizard asks you to agree to license terms and then installs the SideShow gadget. You then typically enable the SideShow gadget for one or more devices in the Windows SideShow dialog box. However, if you install a third-party device, the device manufacturer might have installed and enabled some SideShow gadgets on the device, and these SideShow gadgets might not appear in the dialog box. Check the documentation that came with the device or access the manufacturer s website. Although there is no limit to the number of SideShow gadgets that you enable for a device, the device has a fixed amount of space to store information, and this space is shared by all of the SideShow gadgets. If you need to increase the amount of space for a SideShow gadget on a device, turn off other SideShow gadgets that you do not need. You can uninstall a device from the Windows SideShow dialog box. However, SideShow gadgets are programs. If you want to uninstall a SideShow gadget, you need to click Programs And Features in Control Panel, select Uninstall Or Change A Program, and then uninstall the SideShow gadget as you would any other application. SideShow gadgets such as Windows Media that are built into the OS cannot be uninstalled.

4. On the Configuration Storage tab, as shown in Figure 12-15, configure which Configuration Storage server will be used by the ISA Server computers that are members of the array. You can also configure an Alternate Configuration Storage server and configure how frequently the ISA Server computers will check for updates. You can also modify the authentication type.

If you do not have access to a SideShow device but want to learn more about the technology before tackling the examination, you can run the SideShow simulator. This is provided in the Windows SideShow SDK, which is part of the Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows Vista, downloadable at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx FamilyID=c2b1e300-f358-4523b479-f53d234cdccf&DisplayLang=en. 5. On the Intra-Array Credentials tab, as shown in Figure 12-16, configure the account that will be used to authenticate for intra-array communication. If the array contains computers that are members of a trusted domain, you can use Authenticate using the computer account of the array member. If the array contains computers that are members of a workgroup, select Authenticate Using This Account (For Workgroup Configuration Only) and then click Set Account to specify a user account. This user account must be mirrored on all array members.
